We all face tough and difficult challenges in life. Some become difficult to overcome, especially when the odds are stacked against us. Going against all odds, is something we're capable of doing. To overcome challenges you need to have that "never quit" attitude in life. If you develop it, you'll overcome quite a bit.

What is Attitude?

Attitude is generally described as the established ways of responding to people and situations that we have learned, based on the values and assumptions we hold and this becomes manifest through your behavior. There is no attribute of a man so powerful as his attitude. It dictates his response to the present and determines the quality of his future. A man's attitude is the brick of his life, which bonds up to build his destiny. Little wonder that William James of Harvard University once said, "The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by uttering their attitudes of mind. Attitude creates one's world and design one destiny.

Attitude is such a critical factor in destiny. Each individual must examine their attitude towards life and build the kind of attitude that will catapult one into destiny. Have a bet; working to build a positive attitude will be worth enduring the temporary stress and uncertainty of change. Always remember that for you to rise to the top, overcome barriers and attain success, you must develop an optimistic, healthy attitude.

Our attitude drives our behavior in life. Your body language is a result of your mental attitude. By choosing your attitude you get in that mood and send out a message that everyone understands, consciously or unconsciously.

"Almost always, you have a choice as to what attitude to adopt. There is nothing in any normal work situation that dictates you react one way or another. It is our choice to choose the right attitude, and since we do have a choice, most of the time it'll be better off if we choose to react in a positive rather than a negative way.

The Power of Positive Thinking

Positive thinking is the right mental attitude that admits into the mind thoughts, words and images that are conductive to growth, expansion and success. It is a mental attitude that expects good and favorable results. A positive mind anticipates happiness, joy, health and a successful outcome of every situation and action. Whatever the mind expects, it finds.

The power of thoughts is a mighty power that is always shaping our life. Even if the idea seems strange give it a try, as you have nothing to lose, but only to gain. Ignore what others might say or think about you, if they discover that you are changing the way you think.

Always visualize only beneficial situations. Use positive words in your inner dialogues or when talking with others. Smile a little more, as this helps to think positively. Disregard any feelings of laziness or a desire to quit. If you persevere, you will transform the way your mind thinks.

Not everyone accepts or believes in positive thinking. Some consider the subject as just nonsense, and others scoff at people who believe and accept it. Among the people who accept it, not many know how to use it effectively to get results. Yet, it seems that many are becoming attracted to this subject, as evidenced by the many books, lectures and courses about it. This is a subject that is gaining popularity.

It is quite common to hear people say: "Think positive!", to someone who feels down and worried. Most people do not take these words seriously, as they do not know what they really mean, or do not consider them as useful and effective. How many people do you know, who stop to think what the power of positive thinking means?

Positive and negative thinking are both contagious.

All of us affect, in one way or another, the people we meet. This happens instinctively on every level, through our thoughts and feelings. People usually sense our aura and are affected by our thoughts. People are more disposed to help us if we are positive, and they dislike and avoid anyone broadcasting negativity.

Negative thoughts, words and attitude bring up negative and unhappy moods and actions. When the mind is negative, poisons are released into the blood, which cause more unhappiness and negativity. This is the way to failure, frustration and disappointment.

Once a negative thought enters your mind, you have to be aware of it and immediately replace it with a constructive one. The negative thought will try again to enter your mind, and then you have to replace it again with a positive one. It is as if there are two pictures in front of you, and you choose to look at one of them and disregard the other. Persistence will eventually teach your mind to think positively and ignore negative thoughts. In case you feel any inner resistance when replacing negative thoughts with positive ones, do not give up, but keep looking only at the beneficial and happy thoughts in your mind.

It does not matter what your circumstances are at the present moment. Think positively, expect only favorable results and circumstances will change accordingly. It may take some time for the changes to take place, but eventually they do.

A quicker and more effective method to employ is the repetition of affirmations. It is a method which resembles creative visualization, and which can be used in conjunction with it.

The Power of Positive Thinking and how to get Affirmations to Work for You

Positive thinking is a practice and it requires that you have a certain mental attitude. It is a mindset or attitude that is geared towards automatically expecting things to work out. When you have a positive thinking mindset you automatically have positive thoughts and you continually recite positive affirmations. This process happens automatically. When you have a positive thinking mindset you almost instantly find answers to even the most complex problems and challenges.

Someone who has a positive thinking mindset naturally thinks positive and always foresees happiness, good health, success, and a positive outcome to just about every situation and event that takes place. They also know that they will make the right decision and the right choices. Since they expect it - their mind and subconscious mind find a way to make it happen. This is the power of having a positive thinking mindset.

How to develop Positive Thinking?

Positive thinking is a practice, one that you work with daily and apply regularly. By making it a daily habit you create a positive thinking mindset that allows you to avoid potentially negative and challenging situations, and helps you resolve dilemmas quickly and easily. With a positive thinking pattern in place you naturally enjoy a better, more rewarding life. You are a product of what you think about daily.

You can only attract what you think about regularly. So if you regularly think that life is difficult you will attract situations that will make your life difficult. If you think that it's difficult to make money, you will attract situations that make it difficult for you to make money or make poor decisions about money.

To have a positive thinking mindset you need to have positive thoughts, and they should be in your mind constantly. The best way to get started is to change they way you think. So start paying close attention to what you think.

Create a thought that is positive and recite it regularly.

For example: if you want to be a millionaire and you're currently earning 30 Million Naira a year, it will likely take some time to earn a million and you may not see results as quickly as you want. Why? Because you're current mind is programmed to making just 30 Million Naira a year. To make a million you have to change the way your mind and subconscious mind operate. Working with Positive Affirmations will help but you'll have to do a lot more.

To create a positive thinking mindset your positive affirmations should be said daily, should be in the present tense, and should be said in your voice. Visualize your success. See yourself succeeding at what you want to achieve. This will help boost the results of your affirmations.

There no point saying an affirmation about making a million dollars and never have an image of you achieving that goal to support it. When you visualize your subconscious associates the image with the affirmation and helps you achieve the success you want sooner

Instructions

1. Step 1

Motivate yourself. Say YES I CAN. The challenge should bring out the best of you in this situation. Slow it down, think that process though. Develop that swagger in saying there's no way you're going to fail at this. If you develop that mindset, you'll get it done.

2. Step 2

Stay calm and cool headed. When you're facing serious troubles and problems in life. You have to recollect yourself, and calm down. You can't panic your way through it. Take a deep breath, relax, and slow it down. Think things through calmly.

3. Step 3

Let failure fuel and fear you in a positive way. Most people will avoid any challenge, because they're scared of failing. Running from that challenge IS failing! Everyone fails at times. It's not how many times you get knocked down that count. It's how many times you get up in life that matter. If you fail the first, second, or third time, don't give up. Pick yourself up, and learn from why you've failed, and move on in positive direction. Learn what made you fail at overcoming these challenge, or challenges.

4. Step 4

Simplify the problem or challenge you're facing. Break it down into steps, and work your way to the top of it. You have to work from the grown up. Work through each step of the process of overcoming this challenge. Make the challenge easier than it. That starts by breaking it down into steps. As you get through each step, you develop more belief you can get it done, then you will.

5. Step 5

Maintain being positive and confident. Overcoming a challenge, you have to believe you can really do it. You have to find out all the ways you can overcome it, and put it to full use and effort. People overcome all kinds of challenges everyday. I believe that challenges aren't nearly as hard as presented most the time. Depends exactly what this challenge is. It's our own mental stability that's the difficult part. When you get into the mind frame of doing it mentally, you'll actually be able to do it. You can't do it, until you get there mentally.

6. Step 6

Think the best, not the worst. What can really be the worst thing that happens if you don't overcome this challenge? Do you lose something extremely valuable? Are you afraid you'll be mocked? Labeled a failure? The most successful people have been labeled these things at one point or another. How do you think they overcome challenges in their life? They've been through the process of not doing it before. Instead of staying down, they use these parts of their life to help overcome them in the future. Don't let anything stick to you, then you'll be able to overcome all challenges you face in your life.

The following story illustrates how this power works:

Anurika applied for a new job, but as her self-esteem was low, and she considered herself as a failure and unworthy of success, she was sure that she was not going to get the job. She had a negative attitude towards herself, and believed that the other applicants were better and more qualified than her. Anurika manifested this attitude, due to her negative past experiences with job interviews.

Her mind was filled with negative thoughts and fears concerning the job for the whole week before the job interview. She was sure she would be rejected. On the day of the interview she got up late, and to her horror she discovered that the shirt she had planned to wear was dirty, and the other one needed ironing. As it was already too late, she went out wearing a shirt full of wrinkles.

During the interview she was tense, displayed a negative attitude, worried about her shirt, and felt hungry because she did not have enough time to eat breakfast. All this distracted her mind and made it difficult for her to focus on the interview. Her overall behavior made a bad impression, and consequently he materialized her fear and did not get the job.

Anthony applied for the same job too, but approached the matter in a different way. He was sure that he was going to get the job. During the week preceding the interview he often visualized himself making a good impression and getting the job.

In the evening before the interview he prepared the clothes he was going to wear, and went to sleep a little earlier. On day of the interview he woke up earlier than usual, and had ample time to eat breakfast, and then to arrive to the interview before the scheduled time.

He got the job because he made a good impression. He had also of course, the proper qualifications for the job, but so had Anurika.

What do we learn from these two stories? Is there any magic employed here? No, it is all natural. When the attitude is positive we entertain pleasant feelings and constructive images, and see in our mind's eye what we really want to happen. This brings brightness to the eyes, more energy and happiness. The whole being broadcasts good will, happiness and success. Even the health is affected in a beneficial way. We walk tall and the voice is more powerful. Our body language shows the way you feel inside.

Positive and negative thinking are both contagious.
